I’ve been absent from the art scene for a while, but I’m very excited to announce that I’ve been shortlisted for the Wyndham Art Prize! I was a little shocked when reminded that this is the 5th time I’ve been selected as a finalist. Very humbling.
Now in its eighth year, the Wyndham Art Prize for 2022 has attracted the highest number of entries since it began. More than 560 artworks were submitted by more than 360 artists. Artists come from across Australia and work with a full variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, printing, photography, sculpture and video.
The themes that stood out this year where responses to the pandemic and the exploration of gender, identity and place.
All finalists’ work with will exhibited at Wyndham Cultural Centre between 2 June to 7 August. Everyone is welcome to the Opening Night, which includes the announcement of the winners, on Thursday 2 June 6.30-8.30pm. Entry is free and no rsvp is required.
